Taking place on Sunday 7th September 2014, tri for life will be returning for the third time to the stunning setting of Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire.
Now in its seventh year, and having raised £1.5m to date for a variety of charities, tri for life continues to provide a fantastic day out for the family and a great fundraising opportunity. The organisers are aiming to make 2014 the year that tri for life raises £2 million, making it one of the largest charity-focussed triathlons in the UK.
tri for life has something for everyone, whether you’re a participant or a spectator. The 2014 event will host three different triathlon distances (all of which can be entered as an individual or relay team), a scootathlon for four- to eight-year-olds and a duathlon for nine- to 15-year-olds. There will also be a mini funfair including face painting, inflatables, body zorbing and rock climbing to ensure that the little ones are fully included.
Lack of specific triathlon kit has often been a barrier for novices so tri for life has partnered with a series of specialist triathlon retailers to ensure that wetsuit and bike hire are available at incredibly competitive prices.
tri for life is all about raising money for charity through providing a challenge – which is why we have a minimum sponsorship level for all of our participants. “No minimum sponsorship = no race” is just one of the many things that makes tri for life unique. Fundraising is not an ‘option’; everyone who takes part has to raise money. tri for life has three charity partners – Rays of Sunshine, Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity and Teenage Cancer Trust – and has pledged to fund specifically identified capital projects so that our participants can follow the impact of their hard work.
tri for life is delighted that this year the triathlon is once again being Powered by Prezzo. The Prezzo team is looking to have over 100 staff taking part and hopes to raise more than £60,000 towards the overall total. tri for life creates a wonderful opportunity for a fun and engaging team building day out for corporates and there are ready-to-go packages to sign up to.
tri for life trustee, Marcus Anselm, commented:
“2014 will be a massive year for us and we’re delighted, and privileged, to be returning to Woburn Abbey. Prezzo have been wonderful supporters for tri for life for the last four years and we are
delighted that they are returning as our corporate partner for this year’s event. “
We are thrilled to be bringing a totally new dimension to the tri for life triathlon at Woburn Abbey in the form of a new closed road, traffic free cycle route. The course is absolutely superb, cycling through the local roads and villages in a totally safe environment. It gives our beginners the chance to really experience something new as well as allowing the more experienced to get some serious speed. This development takes our event into a new league, right up there with the best. It has to be experienced!”
