The BBC Radio 4 Gardeners’ Question Time expert Pippa Greenwood will explain and demonstrate how to grow your own vegetables. Get expert advice to be able to start your own outdoor veg patch. What’s more you get to take home everything you need to create your own salad vegetable window box.
If you’d like to, you can bring your window box of salad vegetables back to the Woburn Abbey Garden Show on Saturday 23rd June for Pippa to judge, as part of a fun competition.
The course itinerary will be as follows:
10.30am Tea and coffee on arrival
11.00am Morning Session demonstration and theory:
Different composts, what to use for what and why
Buying, storing, sowing seed
Watering and care
Pricking out seedlings and potting on
Use of fleece
1.00pm Enjoy a delicious 2-course lunch
2.00pm Afternoon Practical Session:
Create a mini kitchen garden to take home
4.00pm Study Day finishes
After your course get started straight away at home, create your own salad vegetable window box. Then enter it into our fun competition at the Garden Show, where Pippa will choose a winner.
