January is the month of new starts as we welcome in the new year. So what better time to launch a new feature on the website. The first posts were added to our blog on the 10th January, and it now plays host to a range of entries that give visitors a 'behind the scenes' look at our forthcoming exhibitions.
Through the entries posted so far, you can look in detail at one of the soldiers featured in the 'Valiant Hearts' exhibition and see an overview of the lives of the 11th Duke and Duchess prior to the outbreak of World War I. Another post looks at the story of the restoration of the War Memorial in Ampthill Park which stands on the site of the former WWI Training Depot.
Other posts relate to the second 2014 exhibition 'Peeling Back The Years'. There has been extensive investigative work undertaken for this exhibition which started after a number of fragments of historic papers were found in June 2013. Work has been ongoing during December and January and the completion of Phase 1 was recently announced.
Posts will continure to be added to the blog throughout the year, so you should revisit the website regularly to see the latest updates. You can also follow us on Facebook or Twitter using the links at the bottom of this page to see more images of the work in progress.
