Mothering Sunday at The Sculpture Gallery

Mothering Sunday at The Sculpture Gallery

Join us for a private guided tour of Woburn Abbey Gardens and a special afternoon tea at The Sculpture Gallery in the grounds of Woburn Abbey this Mothering Sunday.

The Sculpture Gallery was originally built by Henry Holland during 1789 and 1790 for the 5th Duke of Bedford as an orangery, but was increasingly used to display his collection of sculptures. Set in private gardens overlooking the Camellia House Lake, this stunning building hosts many private events and opens to the public on just a few occasions each year.

The Woburn Estate is home to afternoon tea, popularised in the 1840s by Duchess Anna Maria, wife of the 7th Duke of Bedford. Enjoy this quintessentially English tradition, with delicate finger sandwiches, home made scones and a selection of tempting cakes and pastries.

Arrive at 1:30pm for afternoon tea, following which the garden tour will commence at 3:00pm.

Alternatively choose just afternoon tea in the Sculpture Gallery at 4:00pm.
