From the earliest times, the consumption of food has evolved from the basic requirements to survive into one of the grandest expressions of wealth and style.
Referencing Woburn Abbey’s exquisite collections of porcelain, silver and glass of the 18th and 19th centuries, Curator Matthew Hirst will give an illustrated lecture charting the history and development of western dining.
Following the morning lecture, guests will be treated to a fine dining experience in our renowned Sculpture Gallery.
In the afternoon, guests are welcome to take a self-guided tour of the Abbey, where our former Butler and Head Housekeeper and his team will be on hand to demonstrate dining etiquette.
