Experience a picnic like no other - in The Bedford Estate’s private Hartland Carriage, drawn by a team of four magnificent horses. During your tour you will be met at the picnic site by your very own butler, who will be on hand to unpack the wicker hampers full of delicious gourmet treats, pour champagne and ensure your utmost comfort.
Your special route will reveal breath taking views across the deer park as your tour takes you across private areas of the estate not normally open to the public, past ancient oaks, along tracks used in Georgian times by the 6th Duke when showing off his estate to visitors. You’ll learn some interesting historical facts as well as more about the nine species of deer you may see from your carriage.
You will also be given an exclusive guided tour of Woburn Abbey; the home of the Earls and Dukes of Bedford, one of England's most powerful families, since the 1620s. It is currently the home of the 15th Duke and Duchess of Bedford and their children.
There are 22 rooms that you can experience, which house one of the most significant private art collections in the world, including the work of famous artists such as: Reynolds, Gainsborough, Hogarth, Lely, Rembrandt, Tintoretto and Van Dyck.
As you are guided through the many individual rooms of the Abbey, you will discover 18th-century French and English furniture, magnificent silver and gold collections, in the underground vaults, and a marvellous range of porcelain and many privately collected items treasured by generations of the Russell family.
This is an exclusive tour with very limited availability.
The price is £2500 for up to six adults.
